I was recently interviewed on the radio by a good friend of mine, Debby Hoffman. She convinced me to write a book about my experiences in network marketing. I was originally going to write just a blog and an e-book, but Debby’s advice was good—an actual book makes more sense.
The website for the book, Demystifying Prosperity™: Why You Should Take a Serious Look at Network Marketing, can be found at DemystifyingProsperity.com. There you can sign up for e-mail notifications (distinct from e-mail notifications from this site), view the blog, or send me an e-mail.
I love to write, so I’m delighted with this new project of mine. Let me know what you think. Your comments are sure to influence the final product.

This is the first post in a series about network marketing.
When people ask me what I do for a living, my typical response goes something like this: “You know how most households are struggling financially, barely getting by, even with two or more incomes? Well, I teach people how to leverage their time and effort to produce the financial freedom they so desperately want.” In a nutshell, this is the power and the promise of network marketing.
Since 2002 I have been involved in several network marketing enterprises. Some have come and gone, and a few have stood the test of time. This series of posts will ultimately become the basis of an e-book on How to Choose the Right Network Marketing Opportunity for You.
So what is network marketing? The traditional business model is to develop a product and then market it through various distribution channels: national wholesalers, regional distribution centers, local retailers, along with a hefty advertising budget. In recent decades, more and more companies have begun marketing their products through a network of independent associates in a direct-to-consumer model that bypasses all the middlemen. And instead of spending a fortune on advertising, those monies are distributed to the associates in the form of commissions, remunerating them for their word-of-mouth advertising . . . which is essentially what network marketing is.
Network marketing is a subset of the direct sales industry. Typically, network marketers receive commissions for their own efforts, along with commission overrides for the efforts of the associates that they introduce to their businesses. This results in residual income that can grow over time and become quite substantial. In many cases, these residual income streams can be willed to your heirs and continue indefinitely. Now that’s leverage!
And that is precisely why you should care about network marketing. Even if you enjoy your current job, you should give serious consideration to augmenting its linear stream of income with something more residual and powerful in the long run.
That’s enough for now. Feel free to add your comments below. They are sure to influence my future posts.

I must be the world’s least consistent blogger. Sigh. Well, here is a long overdue post.
Have you noticed how popular video has become on the Web? I have been having lots of fun with video lately, due to my association with Mark Hoverson’s team of Internet marketers at Global Resorts Network. You can find the videos I’ve posted so far on YouTube. Just search on my full name (Carl Eric Johnson) and you’ll find them. Let me know what you think.
Global Resorts Network is the perfect counterpart to VMdirect and its HelloWorld suite of streaming video services. I am having a great time building both businesses concurrently.
My Global Resorts Network website is http://globalrevealed.com and my VMdirect website is http://vmdirect.com/carleric.
Until next time, keep smiling. You never know who has a camera pointed at you!

- How to get traffic to your blog
- How to turn your blog into money
I’ll let you know what I think once I’ve had a chance to check it out. Meanwhile, go grab yours while it’s still free.

So much for starting to blog on a regular basis. Anyway, a lot has happened since my initial blog entry. My seminar is coming along nicely, and I’m looking at a February or March time frame for its initial delivery. My colleague Lisa Graham is looking into hotel venues in southern New Hampshire and the North Shore of Boston.
Meanwhile, I’m learning all about teleseminars through Alex Mandossian’s organization, and I anticipate using teleseminars to promote my live training events. Stay tuned, as my teleseminars will be available much sooner than my live seminar.
Be sure to sign up to keep informed as to my progress. I’ll never spam you, and you can remove your name from my list at any time—you’re in control. But do let me help demystify Web Strategies for you.
